Retreat Snapshot

Wild Leadership is a sacred journey into the beating heart of the Costa Rican rainforest — where ancient rivers, towering canopy, and the wild intelligence of nature become your greatest teachers in the art of leading from the inside out.

  • Arrive at Rios Lodge the way it was meant to be arrived at — by river raft, navigating Class II–IV rapids through one of the most biodiverse corridors on Earth

  • Reconnect with your authentic leadership voice through daily meditation, embodiment, and sacred nature practices led by Caroline Lewis

  • Immerse yourself in 2,000+ acres of pristine primary rainforest within the Pacuare watershed, accessible only by raft or foot

  • Explore private waterfalls, ancient trails, and river pools in one of Costa Rica's most protected ecosystems

  • Be nourished by farm-to-table meals prepared fresh daily in the lodge's open-air restaurant, powered entirely by off-grid hydroelectric energy

  • Return home rooted, nourished, confident, and ready to lead in a way that inspires — from the inside out

Who Is This For

This journey is for highly sensitive people who know they are here to make a difference — and who are ready to lead in a way that is wilder, more authentic, more relational, and more deeply inspired than anything the old paradigm ever offered.

You are done leading from exhaustion, obligation, or performance. You are ready to lead from your own inner river — from the energetic flow inside you that is ancient, alive, and completely unique.

If you are a coach, therapist, healer, teacher, artist, entrepreneur, leader, or changemaker who is longing to reconnect with the source of your inspiration and step into a more courageous, heart-led chapter of your leadership, the river is calling you.

The Experience

An extraordinary week of sacred ceremony, rainforest immersion, river adventure, leadership embodiment, and deep restoration — held within the intimate container of Rios Lodge on the banks of the legendary Pacuare River. This is leadership development as nature intended it.

The Transformation

You return home from Wild Leadership with the felt sense of your own wild authority. Grounded, creatively awakened, emotionally renewed, and spiritually expanded, you carry the medicine of the river within you. Your leadership becomes more generous, more courageous, and more genuinely inspiring to everyone around you.

‍ ‍Into the River — The Story of This Retreat

Some journeys begin the moment you step onto the raft.

Your arrival at Rios Lodge is unlike anywhere else on Earth. There are no roads in. No shortcuts. The only way to reach this sacred place is by navigating the legendary Pacuare River — whitewater rapids, towering canyon walls, cascading waterfalls, and ancient rainforest pressing close on every side. By the time you arrive, something in you has already begun to lead differently.

The river has a way of guiding you back to your true knowing.

Nestled in the heart of the Pacuare Gorge and spread across more than 2,000 acres of private reserve, Rios Lodge has been a sanctuary of transformation for over 35 years. Sustainably built from reclaimed lumber and powered entirely by hydroelectric energy, this is a place where nourishment and wilderness exist in perfect harmony — and where sensitive leaders come to remember what they are truly made of.

Each day unfolds at the rhythm of the river. Morning embodiment and meditation with Caroline. Guided hikes to private waterfalls. Sacred leadership circles beneath the jungle canopy. Nourishing meals prepared fresh in the open-air restaurant. And always, the sound of the Pacuare moving beneath it all — ancient, alive, and endlessly wise.

Wild nature has always been the greatest leadership school. And the Pacuare River is its most extraordinary classroom.

This is not a retreat you attend. It is an initiation into authentic leadership you move through.

Location & Venue

Rios Lodge · Pacuare River, Costa Rica

Nestled on the banks of the Pacuare River and surrounded by the breathtaking biodiversity of Costa Rica's tropical rainforest, Rios Lodge is one of the most extraordinary retreat destinations in the world. An award-winning, sustainable ecolodge operating completely off the grid, it sits at the gateway to a 2,000-acre private nature reserve within one of Costa Rica's most protected watersheds.

Accommodations are built into the mountainside at varying elevations, offering sweeping views of the Pacuare River and the surrounding forest. Cabin suites and deluxe rooms feature private bathrooms, hot showers, and covered porches overlooking the river or jungle. WiFi is intentionally limited to common areas only — because the most important downloads on this journey don't come from the internet.

Rios Lodge has been continuously operating for over 35 years and has recently been re-envisioned as a world-class adventure retreat center — making it the perfect home for Wild Leadership.

‍ Retreat Experiences

Raft Into the Wild Your leadership journey begins before you even arrive. The only way into Rios Lodge is by navigating the legendary Pacuare River — Class II–IV rapids, serene stretches, and lush landscapes featuring waterfalls and towering rock faces. There is no better metaphor for sensitive leadership than learning to move with a powerful current rather than against it. This is your initiation.

Meditation & Embodiment with Caroline Lewis Each morning begins with Caroline guiding the group through movement, breathwork, and somatic practice — helping you drop out of your head and into the body wisdom that is your most reliable leadership compass. Sensitive leaders lead best when they are fully embodied. This is where it begins.

Sacred Sensitive Leadership Ceremony Caroline weaves ceremony throughout the week — opening and closing circles, intention rituals, and sacred practices that honour the land, the river, and the unique gifts each leader carries. This is leadership initiation in its most ancient and powerful form.

Rainforest Immersion & Private Waterfall Hikes With over 40 miles of hiking trails through secret waterfalls and pools, the reserve surrounding Rios Lodge is yours to explore. Nature is the original leadership mentor — and these trails will show you things about yourself that no boardroom ever could.

Leadership Council The most powerful leadership development happens in circle. Together we weave our voices together through the power of speaking from the heart throughout the week — exploring what it means to lead as a sensitive, intuitive, visionary soul in a world that desperately needs exactly that.

Zip-line Canopy Tour Soar across the Pacuare River on an exhilarating zip-line tour with sweeping views of the rainforest and river gorge below. Sometimes the most inspiring thing a leader can do is let go and fly.

The Power of Story & Song Gather beneath the jungle canopy for storytelling, song, and the ancient practice of witnessing one another. Sensitive leaders inspire through story — and this practice reconnects you to the narrative that only you can tell.

Farm-to-Table Dining Outstanding meals from the lodge kitchen nourish body and spirit throughout the week — fresh, locally sourced, and abundant. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included daily, enjoyed open-air with the sound of the Pacuare River below. Because nourished leaders inspire the world.

As a Wildly Sensitive Soul, on this journey you will:

  • Connect with Your Wild and Sacred Self:   Align with who you truly are in this present moment. Your connection with your innate wildness determines your ability to consciously shape your path so you can lead with direction and empowerment.  For some, this may be the first time connecting with your true self; for others, it will be a powerful remembrance. This connection is a gift that, once remembered, can never be taken away.

  • Access Interconnectivity with Nature:  Everything begins and ends with energy and nature. The extent to which you intentionally take the time for yourself to cultivate and replenish this energy directly influences the inner well of life force that you can access throughout your life. By harnessing your energy intentionally, you can return with newfound wisdom and radiance, helping your health, relationships, and communities remain committed to what matters to you most.

  • Awaken Your Unique Life Force and Intuition: Discover new methods to harness your personal energy and creativity for leadership.  We can only experience a sense of awe and radiance in our purpose and lives when all areas are attended to in a conscious and meaningful way. So we choose to pay close attention to the subtle realms of our reality and to awaken to our knowing that leadership shaped by the sacred, from the inside out rather than the outside in, is the leadership our communities and our Earth need right now.  To discover mystical truths, we disconnect with our digital reality, go on a spiritual adventure together, and pilgrimage beyond the surface to delve deep into our sensitive hearts.

  • Connect with other sensitive folks with a Wildly Sensitive Leadership Community: Pulling up our bootstraps and lone wolfing is the leadership style of the past. So is looking outside ourselves to gurus and patriarchal teachings.   To stay aligned with our most precious inner knowing, we choose to lead from the intelligence channeled from the oceanic depths of the Earth.  This happens in circle together, not within the old paradigm of hierarchical structure.  We recognize that cultivating community connections with other sensitive leaders will foster growth, empowerment, and sacred leadership for our future generations.

And Here are some things others who have gone before you have said …

“I had the privilege of joining a women’s and nonbinary retreat led by Caroline Lewis, and it was one of the most relaxing and awakening experiences I’ve ever had. Caroline cultivated a community of inspiring women who shared vulnerability, playfulness, and deep connection.

Her guided meditations were profoundly grounding. This perspective helped me find compassion toward parts of myself I once resisted, reframing them as nourishment for growth and renewal.

Caroline brings remarkable sincerity, drive, and dedication to her craft.

Her ability to hold space with both gentleness and strength creates an environment where authentic connection and personal transformation can flourish.

I deeply admire her commitment and would recommend her retreats and therapy to anyone seeking rest, reflection, and genuine community.”  E.S.

“If you are hesitating on signing up, take the leap with Caroline.  Being surrounded by like minded women allowed me to thrive within myself again.  S.K.

Connecting with fellow women in this sacred, held way felt healing and replenishing for my Spirit and the Earth ~ R.T.

Such an amazing experience on the retreat!  This built my confidence, strength, and trust of my inner guidance.  It was beautiful, community-building, and deeply transformative…I would definitely recommend women leaders join this journey!  ~ J.P.
